Jarrett Murphy, the Village Voice's new press critic, also takes issue with David Carr's assessment in the New York Times of David Talbot's tenure as editor of Salon. Murphy's issues do not relate to the fact that Talbot misrepresented the solvency of his company and falsely claimed that the magazine has entered a state of profitability, as detailed first here.
Rather, Murphy's complaint is that Carr's assessment of Talbot as an "online pinoneer" contains no mention whatsoever of the many controversies surrounding the editor's ethical transgressions.
